DESCRIPTION

The Stanmar Electrical Resistance Unit Probe fitted with the SM-39-PG packing gland is a retractable probe designed for refinery on-line installation at pressures up to 500 PSI*. The wide variety of probe sensing elements provide accurate corrosion measurements over a wide range of corrosive environments.

* Pressure rating is dependant upon mounting configuration required. (ex: flange rating)

The Stanmar High pressure Retractable Unit Probe provides flexibility and economic replacement via probe inserts. The Wire Loop and Tube Loop probes provide the added durability of a glass sealed element (in most applications). Alloys and element styles normally available are listed in Table 1. Other alloys or element styles may be available subject to material.

These probes may be used up to their design temperature and presure in organic or inorganic fluids of all types, in the pH range of 0 - 9. Above pH 9 or for other extremely aggressive service, cylindrical element probes are recommended. In applications where stainless steel bodies would be subject to failure due to stress cracking or pitting, or for probes made of special materials, contact the factory for specific information before ordering.

TEMPERATURE READING OPTION

Temperature is one of the most important controllable factors affecting corrosion rate, especially in refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants. As a general rule, the corrosion rate doubles for each 10° C temp. rise. The ability to track temperature and corrosion rate simultaneously is an exceptional tool in the corrosion management of such plants.

The Stanmar Temperature Reading Probe (patented) allows for metal loss and temperature information to be collected without spending time searching for separate temperature measurement that may not exist for the area you want to monitor. To read these probes you simply need to purchase a 6 pin to 7 pin adapter (p/n: SM-67-CP) and a temperature reading instrument (p/n: SM-7T-TM).
